View from the Surgery is an hilarious but poignant series of articles describing the cases of the many colourful characters who consult Dr Ken B Moody. The loveable old curmudgeon is a general practitioner in the beautiful Scottish Borders. He writes of his experiences, past and present,  in a regular column in local newspapers ( Peeblesshire News, Border Telegraph, and East Lothian Courier.)

He is delighted to be appearing monthly in The Scottish Banner The Banner is the largest and most widely circulated  Scottish newspaper in the world. It is enjoyed by the ex-pat community in Canada, US, Australia and New Zealand.

He is still discovering what constitutes a "lifestyle magazine" but features in DGB Life (Dumfries & Galloway and Borders) so is a 'weel kent' scribe both in Southern Scotland and around the globe.

The editor of View from the Surgery enjoyed his chat with Fred MacAulay on Radio Scotland on Monday 13th October. Fred described it as "like James Herriot with humans!"

Read a review of the book by Shari Low in Daily Record

The lovely Lorraine Kelly told him the book made her smile-but, then again, Lorraine is always smiling!

Times columnist Matthew Parris described the book as "fun on a rainy day." This should make it a well read tome as it rains rather a lot in Scotland!

British Medical Journal columnist Dr Des Spence described it as "a great book."

It was reviewed in the September 2008 edition of The Scots Magazine and literary heights were scaled when he appeared on Alex Dickson's Smooth Bookcase

He has only a modicum of anxiety as to how medical colleagues receive the book but will find out in the-October 2008- edition of HooletThis is the irreverent, Scottish spin-off journal of the RCGP (Royal College of General Practitioners)

This website contains a few articles from the book and one or two more recently written ones.

A rare glimpse of Dr Moody at work. Note the calm but concentrated expression on his face and the faraway look upon hers. The intimacy is entirely professional, we are assured.
